Kidney Stones – Signs and Symptoms
Kidney stones are a very painful problem that affects people who have a tendency not drink enough water. These stones are formed from minerals that develop in your urine. Many people develop kidney stones and they don’t even know it as they stay inside of the kidneys. These stones generally don’t cause any problems when they stay local, but when they make the move have the kidney and into the ureter tube, this can be an extremely painful event. Listed below are some of the symptoms that most generally develop when a kidney stone goes into that tube.
The symptoms include:
- Pain that develops in your side or in your groin area which begins very suddenly and tends to worsen over a period of time between 15 to 60 minutes until it is virtually unbearable. Often times the pain will vanish when the stone isn’t moving, and other times it will quit hurting when the stone passes on into the bladder.
- Vomiting and nausea is another symptom.
- Often times there’ll be blood in urine.
- Another symptom is the feeling that you need to pass water quite often and when you are experiencing a lot of pain or difficulty.
- Constipation, diarrhea, and even loss of appetite are all symptoms.
- The feeling of not being able to get you body into a comfortable position.
If you think that you have a kidney stone that you are passing it is important to contact your doctor immediately. Most generally, if it’s just small kidney stone, it will pass without any type of need for medical treatment, but there are rare instances where surgery is needed. These are very painful though and your doctor can give you pain medication.
